Photography

I have had a life-long fascination with photography but it’s only in recent years that I’ve begun taking it seriously. I now read anything and everything I can get my hands on to do with the craft and love to experiment.

In March 2010 I decided to be brave and hired a professional studio for the day. The aim was to hit the ground running, and create a portfolio as quickly as I could. I invited anyone and everyone who was interested in taking part to join me: I managed to get 12 or so 30 minute sessions, made up of individuals, couples, groups, and family portraits. You can see the results here!  I was very pleased with them.

I have since taken on paid work, including weddings, and I’m getting better!

I’m planning to do more shoots with models, especially on location somewhere. I’m very interested in portraiture and love interesting and quirky images. In all of my photos I try to create a story or cause questions in the viewer’s mind - I think this is the best way to create more engagement with the viewer.
